Zeer geachte Dickensians,

Het doet ons genoegen U uit te nodigen voor de eerste bijeenkomst van de Haarlem Branch in 2012. U wordt verwacht op zaterdag 4 februari om 16.00 uur in Sociëteit Trou Moet Blijcken (tel. 023-531.1474) waar
zalen voor U gereserveerd zijn. Trou Moet Blijcken ligt aan de Grote Houtstraat 115 te Haarlem. Vanaf het treinstation vijftien
minuten lopen. Ook rijden er bussen richting halte Verwulft (V&D), uitstappen aldaar. Er is gelegenheid tot parkeren van auto’s
achter de Sociëteit; Klein Heiligland 32-34 (aanbellen indien de ingang is gesloten).
Het is ditmaal een bijzondere bijeenkomst. Niet alleen is het ongewoon vroeg in het jaar dat U wordt genodigd maar ook is de
middag anders ingevuld dan U doorgaans gewend bent.Deze middag wordt namelijk het boek, waar het bestuur het steeds maar over
heeft gehad, gepresenteerd. Het eerste exemplaar van:
Dickens in de Lage Landen – hoe hij wordt gelezen en geprezen
wordt uitgereikt aan ons medelid mevrouw Pietsie Bomans
Maar er is meer, ja, het zal niet. In samenwerking met het Noord Hollands archief worden op deze middag alle
77 nummers van The Dutch Dickensian on line gezet, zoals dat zo fraai heet. U heeft dan via het internet
toegang tot het hele archief.
Het programma is als volgt:
15.30 uur: inloop met een drankje
16.00 uur: lancering digitale Dutch Dickensian
16.15 uur: presentatie Dickens in de Lage Landen
17.00 uur: hapjes en drankjes
19.00 uur: einde bijeenkomst
U merkt, er wordt deze keer geen diner georganiseerd maar de “hapjes” zullen substantieel zijn, waardoor u niets te kort komt.
Indien U aanwezig wil zijn, dan verzoek ik U om vooraf € 10,00 over te maken naar ons rekeningnummer. Dit ter bestrijding van
alle kosten die deze presentatie met zich brengt.

We are happy to invite you to the first meeting of The Haarlem Branch in 2012. We expect you
in Sociëteit Trou Moet Blijcken (tel. 023-531.1476) Saturday 04 February at four o'clock.
Trou Moet Blijcken is situated at Haarlem, Grote Houtstraat 115. It's a fifteen minutes walk
from the railwaystation. There's a busservice (busstop Verwulft V&D). There's a parking behind Trou Moet
Blijcken: Klein Heiligland 32 - 34 (Ring if the entrance is closed).
It's a special meeting this time. Not only are you invited this year rather early, but the organisation of the
meeting is quite different as well. The book the board has mentioned so often is presented this afternoon. The
first copy of:
Dickens in de Lage Landen - hoe hij wordt gelezen en geprezen
is presented to our member Mrs. Pietsie Bomans.
But there is even more. Together with the Archive of North-Holland all 77 issues of
The Ducth Dickensian are on line The whole archive of our branch is on the
internet now.
The program of this meeting is as follows:
15.30 - A Welcome-drink
16.00 - Official launching of The Digital Dutch Dickensian
16.15 - Presentation of Dickens in de Lange Landen
17.00 - Refreshments
19.00 - End of the meeting
No dinner is served this time but there will be enough to eat.
