Building Morris Minor Models - W&T Manufacturing
Cleaned-up and original body. The red arrows indicate the moulding marks on the body and in the window.

Besides these marks there also are marks on the backdoors and the front wings.
The casting of the W&T models is good.

Of course there are moulding marks on the body which have to be removed. This can be quite difficult due to the lines of the Morris Minor Van. The wheels and baseplate did have some light moulding marks also.

The baseplate does fit nicely after removing the moulding marks but the wheels did not fit in the wheelarches because they were a little bit too much to the front of the model. Some small changes to the baseplate solved this problem.

Removing the moulding marks with little files and adapting the baseplate took about 4 hours work. The result is a nice smooth model ready for painting.
After removing the moulding marks I sprayed the baseplate and body dark blue.
The wheels were painted black and the seats were done in light brown and weathered afterwards.
When all this was done it was time to glue the model together.
The next step in the proces is picking all the small parts out in paint.

The wheels and grill were painted Old English White (they took 2 layers of paint)
The hubcaps, grill surrounds, door handles, lights, hinges etc were painted silver.
The tail lights were painted red.

And after another 4 hours of work the model was finished.
Sprayed body and baseplate.
Picking out the details.
The completed model.
