BRESKENS
THE NETHERLANDS
1 to 3 September 2000
On the 1st of september we are travelling to the dutch National Rally in Breskens (in the Zeeland region of the netherlands). We decided to stay in a cabin. So, towing the trailer-tent was not neccessairy this time.

We did take the route over Antwerpen which took us about 3.5 hours to reach the camp-site. When we arrived at the camp-site a number of Morris Minors were already there and people were putting up tents, campers etc.

We went to our cabin, unloaded the traveller, made the bedroom ready and after that went out to visit all of our friends from Germany, the U.K. and Holland.
Of course some liquor was spoiled and a lot more of it used.

The largest part of the next day was filled with driving a fantastic route through the Zeeland area.
Kees and Anja Luteijn showed us places we didn't even know they existed.

The names of some of the cities and villages we passed are : Biervliet, Yzendijke, Aardenburg, Sluis, Cadzand, Retranchement.
In almost all of these places there are uniqe buildings to see like old churches, houses and wind-mills. Besides that the surroundings are very green and beautifull to drive through.

After a long journey we returned to camp-site 'Het haventje' in Breskens and at 7 o'clock the meal and party starts. The party did go on until very late in the night.
The next day a lot of participants left early because they had to drive for 5 or more hours to get home.

The rest of us went to the beach and started to play with kites, frisbees and building sand-castles.

One of the sand-castles was in the shape of a lowlight Morris Minor. The kids did have a great time on the beach and enjoyed all the attention they got.

When we returned from the beach there was a photo-shoot by a local newspaper and after that we departed.

At 11 o'clock in the evening we were home again.
