During the production of the Series II the light commercial vehicles were introduced. The largest fleet owner was the GPO with their P.O.Telephones Vans and the Royal Mail Vans.
One of the largest differences with the common Morris Minor is the full-length boxed chassis frame which remained unchanged throughout production. The cabine was built in unit construction with the rest of the car. The back of the Van and the bed of the Pick-up were bolted on.
On the Series II LCV's the bumper blades were not chromed and there was no Morris Minor badging on the bonnet.
The lighting on the LCV's was much the same as on the other Minors except for the rubber-winged P.O.Telephones Vans.
On Series II vehicles the trafficators/indicators were absent.
Interior trim on the LCV's was more simple than in normal cars. Rubber floor mats with exposed sills and wheel-arches took care of the floors. Door panels were brown except on the 1098cc models when they became beige and later black. The seats matched the colours of the door panels.
The Pick-Up was also available as a Chassis-Cab from the factory. The owners mostly had a custom Pick-Up bed made to meet their needs.
The example on the picture was used by a dutch fish trader who did own several of these Pick-Ups to sell his fish from. His company chose for a wooden Pick-up bed because it could not rust when it came in contact with the salt water from the fish. This example is painstakingly restored to its original specifications.
