Customized Morris Minors (1948 - ....)
Besides Technical alterations the look of some Minors is modified by a number of alterations.
Pickups are being build out of vans. Convertibles are being made out of 2-Door saloons.
And the real customizing enthousiatst go a lot further with lowering cars, cutting away parts of the body or smoothening the Morris Minor. Even building the Body of a Minor onto a Rover chassis has been done.
This used to
be a 2-dr Saloon. Now it's a beautifull Convertible

or Morris Minor, that's the question.
Modifying and Customizing the Morris Minor has a long tradition. In the late fourties several conversions for the Sidevalve engine of the series MM were available, the best known probably being the Alta Conversion.
Later on in production modifying of the engine for Rally or Race purposes was common in these circles.
When the Morris Minor came of age some owners tried transplants from other cars. The Riles 1.5 litre engine seems to fit quite nice.
Nowadays a number of engines are built into the Morris Minor. The most well known examples are Marina 1275cc, Datsun 1200cc, Fiat 1600cc, Fiat 2000cc, Rover 3.5 litre V8 and the new Rover K-series 1800cc.
Of course the brakes and suspension are altered too to keep this power on the road.
