In 1948, when the Series MM was introduced at the Earls Court Motor Show, only a two-door saloon and a Tourer model were produced of the Morris Minor.
Due to American safety regulations the original design had to be changed from Low headlights to High headlights. The first USA export model with High headlights was produced in Januari 1949, only 5 months after the introduction of the Morris Minor.
In September 1950 the 4-door saloon was introduced. In Januari 1951 all the
models had high headlights.
Because the prices for chrome were high 1951 was also the year in which the grill became painted.
In June 1951 the Tourer's detachable side-screens had to go for fixed rear-side windows.
The 'new' model was called Convertible.
In September 1952 the first CKD (Completely Knocked Down) Cars were manufactured. These Cars were fitted with the Series II Overhead Valve Engine.
The CKD Cars, which were shipped in large crates, were assembled in other countries (f.i. Denmark and The Netherlands)
In Februari 1953 the last Series MM Morris Minor, a 2-door saloon, was produced.
