Dicky's kittensite

Been quiet for a while. I had too many other things to do, like preparing my mom's house for her return. How great it is to just work with your hands in her garden. Pulling out weeds is very addictive ..... once I start I can't stop. It's like peeling off flakes of sunburnt skin....I can't stop doing that either.

I was also working on the english translation of Dicky's kittensite which had to be done in stolen minutes and hours. But I finished it on mom's last day here.
Yesterday she went back to her own house, a bit fearful because now she has to fend for herself, and will be alone in the house, even if she's visited daily by my brothers. We'll see how it goes. Maybe the hardest thing for her is missing the cats. I noticed yesterday that the cats are totally confused and are searching for her. They want back their lean-on place in the bed.

Nail in the nose

Yesterday was Coco's 9th birthday. She's becoming sweeter every day. The last few weeks she's laying next to me on the couch in the evenings, but she still won't stay on my lap. And oh she's such a smart lady. She seems to understand everything you say and - if it suits her - she'll do exactly what you want her to do.

Yesterday something strange happened: while grooming Joris I noticed he had this strange small trunk-like thing on his nose. It was an empty nail-shell stuck in his nose. Of course it was Ben's nail, pretty big, and apparently Joris hadn't noticed a thing. No sneezing, no washing, nothing. That thing must have been in there for at least an hour.

And Benneke ....he's still the same.
Last thursday during morning rush hour I fell off my bike, very hard. Due to some silly manoeuvre I made. I remember I was very busy making the right moves while falling, which probably helped contain the damage. I had lots of luck: only some scrapes, bruises and an already painful but now bleeding arthrosis-finger. I was able to go to work like allways, but my muscles were very sore, and having to lift a 7 kilo-weighing Ben high up in his climbing tree made me realise every time that I had a bad fall. It was probably good therapy, because I'm already practically without pain now.
