The Southern Yorkshire is without a doubt a stellar opening. 80 % of the times the final result was positive. Certainly outperforming the English Positive Average. This cannot be said of England’s most popular opening, the Northern Yorkshire. It is doing just as good as the English Positive Average. The Southern Yorkshire is the best opening used on Diplomacy2000, but only a minority is using it. Most tend to stick to the save and boring  “a draw is a joint victory” approach and use the Norhtern Yorkshire or Northern Edinburgh.

Whenever England had a solo, France was eliminated and never got more than 6 SCs in its shortened life. France openings all had the move Mar – Spa. Russia never build in StP at the end of 1901. In none of the 5 English Solos did France and Germany build Fleets in Brest and Kiel at the same time. All English builds in 1901 were Fleets.
