Regional history
This region is now known as the "Kempen" in Noord-Brabant(and also in
Belgium).
The old name of this region is Taxandria.
The name came from the tribal name of the Texuandrii who served as
auxiliary in the Roman army.
They also worked as farmers and craftsman to support the local economy.
These Texuandrii settled in the empty space where, the Celtic tribes of
Eburonen and Nervii lived, before the Roman conquest.
