Radios

Of this groups-activity it was and still is the hardest job to find any information. Until mid 2006 little was known to me of this company only the existence of 2, 3 and 4 valve sets, of which pictures are shown. All these were made, as far as I know, in the twenties. When they started their activities I did not find out yet. July 2006 I was lucky to buy a 1928 leaflet, while from a booklet some copy-pages were obtained too. They too can be seen on the “Photogallery”-button.

It is likely that BSA radio sets were produced for the home market only. So far it appears that most parts for them came from Western Electric (U.S.A.) and they were assembled and sold in the U.K. under BSA trademarks.

Also the hornspeakers for the wireless were look-a-likes of those from Western Electric. On the other hand, I was told that the cabinets for the BSA-wireless were made by the woordworkers of the Gundepartment.

A question that arises from the export edition of the 1927 motorcycles catalogue.

Why are these articles illustrated in the export one and not in the catalogue for the home market? Were they trying to make them more known abroad !?

Apart from what is mentioned in these catalogues, I do not have to tell you that brochures on these articles are very very rare (mosly must have been thrown away before guarantee was over).

Furthermore, apart from being mentioned within the group organisation in 1946 this company's name is missing from all the BSA information we have gathered so far.
As you can see! Any further information on BSA Radios Ltd. will be most welcome.
