The rosegarden

The rosegarden is the most formal chamber of our garden. It's sheltered by hedges of Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) which provide a wonderful climate for our large collection of Mediteranean plants (including sunbathing in the Spring; in Summer it's just too hot).

Rosegarden (June 23, 2004)

Because the English Roses in the rosegarden were too succeptible to fungi and as a result without leaves most of year, they've been replaced by a modern rose. It starts late in the season but flowers all the year thru.
