The rosegarden The rosegarden is the most formal chamber of our garden. It's sheltered by hedges of Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) which provide a wonderful climate for our large collection of Mediteranean plants (including sunbathing in the Spring; in Summer it's just too hot).
Because the English Roses in the rosegarden were too succeptible to fungi and as a result without leaves most of year, they've been replaced by a modern rose. It starts late in the season but flowers all the year thru.
In winter all of the Meditteranean plants that are succeptible to frost are kept in the 'orangerie', 'limonaia' or greenhouse.
