Saturday, December 8

A sunny December morning in Voorburg.

A beautiful sunny December morning in one of the suburbs of The Hague: Voorburg. Just like 5 years ago (our wedding day), when we had dinner here (Hotel and Restaurant Savelberg in Voorburg.) with all of our friends, from all over the world.

December 8: a memorable day we still cherish. For it's the very same day when Tallotter and JG met eachother in an Amsterdam pub, 15 years ago. Just having a drink, not looking for a lover and without any expectations... And look, where it has brought us today!

Over dinner last nite we reminisced the past year(s) and replayed the whole movie over again. Despite a few bumps along the road, we finally went to bed: drunk, grateful and overjoyed. Feelin' amazingly blessed!

Friday, December 15

Oleta Adams: A Christmas Celebration (Concertgebouw Haarlem).

For many years we've been great fans of Oleta Adams (Oleta Adams). Fortunately for us Oleta has a special bond with us too, the Dutch.

After an absence of precisely two years she's now back with her Christmas Celebration Tour. What a sound! It seems as if her voice has even improved. A pity we see her tonite in Tallotter's hometown Haarlem, for the people here (they're called mosquito's) aren't particularly famous for their exuberance. Until "Breath of Heaven" is sung. For a moment it seems as if the Holy Virgin herself is on stage, lamenting her desperation.

Monday, December 18

Minutian's new home: the former cow stable.

The end of the year, almost. And although we had planned to have Christmas dinner in the farm this year, there's still a lot of work to be done before you can call this a livingroom. But we're making progress! The main building is half way finished now and last week they have started with replacing the rotten buttresses in Minutian's stable.

Christmas Day, December 25

Table is set for Xmas dinner.

Michael just called from Louisiana, JG is in the kitchen, the table is set, Minutian is about to pick up JG's Dad and brother and sister.
We're almost ready for Christmas dinner.

Last year we had Mum still here with us at the table, a few days before she left us. We also lost Tallotter's father this year. But we have a lot of good and very warm memories to think of, so we will celibrate this evening together as if it was our first night together. We hope you will all do the very same: celibrate life.

Merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy 2007!
