Postcards of Moordrecht, the Netherlands
published by W.S. van der Sterre
|
Between 1900 and 1912 the butcher
Willem Sebastiaan van der Sterre
(1877-1937), his photograph, taken in 1901 is on the right - was the
first person to publish postcards of the Dutch town of Moordrecht (in the
province Zuid-Holland). His butcher's shop was in the 'Dorpsstraat', on
the picture on the left it is the building on the right. I don't know how
many postcards he exactly published in this period, but at least he produced
twenty different cards. Of thirteen postcards I have original copies, these
can all be seen on this page. Of most of the other cards on display here,
scans were made by Richard de Bruijn. These are marked with an *. De Bruijn
also wrote a book on postcards of Moordrecht.
