The Crest
This is the emblem and shows a bee on a thistle.
In the old days the Chief wore a badge on his helmet, for his followers to recognise him during the battle: the "Crest of the Chief".
Anyone bearing the same name as the Chief is a Clansman and is entitled to wear the Crest, encircled with a strap and buckle, to show his loyalty to the clan .
