Bonaire

Bonaire is a small beautiful island in front of the coast of Venezuela (12° 9'39.03"N 68°14'36.11"W). It is part of the 'Netherlands Antilles" which is a part of the Dutch Kingdom. Click here for a map and more geographical information.

Bonaire has an interesting history with colonial ties to Spain and The Netherlands. You can see the influences and mixtures of colonial cultures everywhere. The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxed. However there's more to it, nature is offering some fine things like heaps of flamingos, huge salt lakes, wild donkeys, great mangroves and much more. As the license plates state on the cars, it is a ‘Divers Paradise’. In my opinion is not the best and versatile diving I’ve done, however it is certainly the most convenient and relaxed. Throw your scuba gear in a truck and just walk in the turquoise blue waters wherever you like. Scuba Diving is appreciated not only on the diving itself, but for the whole entourage, isn't?
