| I think this is a Hindu funeral ceremony, but I'm not sure. You'll see things like this all the time. The Balinese Hindus maintain their culture despite all the other influences invading their island. |

I took this photo near 'Lake Batur'. The locals try to sell fruits, woodcraft and all kinds of other things for a little bit of money. Don't forget to bargain, it's normal! |

The
rice fields near the picturesque village of Ubud. Ubud is a place to relax
and is well known for its painters. It's only 45 minutes from Kuta and
is situated in the mountains, so a little bit cooler. |

Near
Lovina in the mountains you can find small villages. The people mainly
live from growing coffee and kretek (clove) production. Most of the people
live in poverty, but still smiling faces and the changes are that they'll
invite you for a cup of coffee! |

Lovina,
the "Bob Marley" village of Bali. Every morning at 6.00 you
can find here loads of Dolphins cruising by. |

Bali
has many Hindu temples. This is the "Pura Besakih" temple, the
mother temple. Watch out for all kinds of rip-offs! They'll try to convince
you to take a guide and all kinds of other not needed things. |

I
will never forget this priest. He told me it was obligated to donate at
least 10 us dollars for the temple. Green as I was, I did. Of course I
found out later that 50 dollar cent was more than enough.. |

In
some of the temples you'll find some monkeys. Very cute, but watch out
for your valuables! |
