Ahead of a new album and a singles/Peel Sessions collection of her former band Miaow, both due later this year, expatriate Mancunian singer-songwriter Cath Carroll has her celebrated solo debut England Made Me reissued by LTM. Recorded in Sheffield, Chicago and Sao Paulo, the album was first released by Factory Records in 1991 (FACT 210), and adds up to a smooth yet sometimes sinister collection of moody dance, sensuous daydreams and warped bossa nova. Viewed anywhichway it is an album of extremes. Whereas tracks such as Subtitled, Send Me Over and single Moves Like You shape course for the dancefloor, legendary sonic reducer Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey) runs Cath clean off the rails on Train You’re On.The album has been digitally remastered and now features four bonus tracks, plus biographical notes and the original sleeve artwork.
