Angel
Buffy finally admits her feelings for angel (YES!!!!!!-sorry), only to discover he's a vampire

This is the episode where things get started for the longest continuing love story in buffy, and is as such one of the most important episodes (not to mention one of the best) in the first season. I am , as you may or may not know, a big fan off the buffy/angel relationship and this is the episode that got it all started. Before this ep it was never
mentioned that buffy was starting to get feelings for angel. Yet here we are at the beginning of "angel" listening to
buffy admitting to just that. This is a great moment in the show, because at this point it becomes painfully clear
(to willow at least), that buffy's relationship with angel stand more off a chance of turning into something, than her
lifelong feelings for Xander ( the irony here is that, although they and we don't know this at this point, buffy stands more of a chance getting together with a vampire-her sworn enemies- than willow does with her best friend... you have to feel sorry for willow there). The other-but in my humble opinion much less important-storyline in this episode is the appearence of the three, a very powerfull group off three vampire warriors. They cause the one problem with this ep: The three are defeted much to easily by buffy and angel-I would have expected more from such legendary warriors. The way they are killed by darla is strangly satisfying however. One off the other big pro's about this episode is that we learn more about angels past, something that must have been applauded by hordes of female fans who wanted to know more about that tall, handsome, dark stanger. We learn he was sired(= made into a vampire) by darla and that they had a long relationship after that- one has to wonder though, how this darla reacted when angel got obsessed with drusilla (one of the most important-and in my opinion, best- villains from the second season). Was she just as jealous?  And if so why didn't she just kill dru back than?  To me it is  annoying that this never gets explained. One of the best things in the ep is how everyone  first sees angel as a threat (A fact that gives something of a preview for the things to come in the second season-this "preview sense" gets even more strong when buffy and angel start to fight at the end off the ep). A very good moment is when angel kills darla and as such gaining buffy's trust (although-considering the things to come-she may have cursed this day, wishing she'd just killed him whem she saw him as evil-but I'm glad she didn't, just think of all the great ep's still to come that wouldn't have been possible). Thé best part in the episode , however, is the first (and the second, for that matter) kiss between Buffy and Angel............Ah, romance is a good thing.
