| Description | Shell up to ca. 55 mm high, solid, weakly inflated, right valve slightly more convex than left valve, subcircular, somewhat higher than long, nearly equivalve and equilateral, auricles short and subequal, umbonal angle ca. 90 degrees, colour orange with darker radial streaks and paler maculations, right valve paler. Both valves sculptured with ca. 40 regularly spaced, low broad rounded lirae and narrow interspaces. Delicate secondary riblets (3-5) on lirae. Closely spaced commarginal microsculpture throughout. Auricles with very weak radial sculpture (ca. 10). Defined internal rib carinae. Byssal notch, byssal fasciole and functional ctenolium lacking. |
