| Description | Shell up
to ca. 20 mm high, left valve nealy flat, right valve
weakly inflated, subcircular, somewhat wider than high, nearly
equivalve and equilateral, anterior auricles slightly larger than posterior,
colour creamy or reddish brown with some irregular whitish maculations
and radial streaks, right valve paler.
Both valves sculptured with regularly arranged, 20-21 radial plicae and numerous closely spaced delicate intercostal commarginal lamellae. Internal rib carinae. Byssal notch relatively deep, byssal fasciole rather broad, functional ctenolium with ca. 5 teeth. |
