Accommodation on the Shetland Islands

There is ample accommodation available on the Shetland Island: Hotels, Bed & Breakfast and Guesthouses and for those adventurers among us there are even so called Camping Böds available. Underneath you will find some links to search for accommodation.

Almara Bed & Breakfast and Self Catering Chalet

We stayed at the *** self-catering accommodation/Chalet of Almara owned by Marcia and Alistair Williamson. Almara is situated at Urafirth, a peaceful crofting hamlet of five houses. Urafirth is situated in North Mainland which we believe is the most scenery part of Shetland.

The Chalet is an attractive wooden summer house, situated in the garden of Almara and has all the comfort you can wish for. It enjoys a panoramic view over Urafirth Voe and the village of Hillswick, which is 1.5 miles away.

Also Marcia runs a **** Bed & Breakfast accommodation. It is said Marcia is the best cook of Shetland and although we had self-catering we had the chance to taste one of her great dishes. Their hospitality and kindness is unique and they are always willing to help you or give information about the surroundings..

We very much enjoyed our stay at Almara and hope to be back one day.

Check out their website for more detailed information about their available accommodation:
