211 Tara Currence from Arkansas, USA: I was born in 1970. My mom was a soap opera junkie, and I was named after a popular character,Tara, from All My Children. I've had many "nicknames" throughout the years, but the most memorable ones are : Holy Tara (terror), Tarabull (terrible), and A Rat (which is tara backwards).My name is (or was before marriage) Tara Ashley Cooper. Needless to say its one of the most southern names I have heard of. Yes, my mother was a Gone with the Wind lover and name came from the plantation and the insectiuos romance of Scarlett and Ashley. Cooper as you have it is a family name there was no way to get past that one.

It's short really, just that my grandmother being 100% irish (I am Irish, Russian, Bulgarian, and Romanian) wanted the last of her grandchildren to have 'a nice Irish name.' Well, I'm not the last, but I was the last she lived to see. Sad, really. My mother, said, "A nice Irish name...? Like what?" and my grandmother replied, "Name her Tara...
