Biography
Prof. Manuela Kalsky, born in Salzgitter-Bad (Germany) in 1961, is the Director of the Theological Research
Center of the Dominicans
DSTS
at Nijmegen (NL) and Professor in Theology en
Society at the VU University Amsterdam.
She studied theology at the University of Marburg (Germany) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands). From 1989-1993 she worked as a research assistant of feminist and systematic theology at the University of Amsterdam. She wrote her PhD on christology from the perspective of women in different cultures (title of the book: Christaphanien. Die Re-Vision der Christologie aus der Sicht von Frauen in unterschiedlichen Kulturen, Gütersloh 2001) She was a visiting lecturer in Vienna, Fribourg and Hamburg. She was the chief editor of the Dutch multimedial website on religious flexibility: www.reliflex.nl and of the multimedial website, looking for a new ‘we’ in the Netherlands: www.nieuwwij.nl.
