Hello,
Just to make it clear : The
starting-point of the 21e century is the first of januar 2001, and that
's not my fantasy.
That all is written in the
Big Dictionary of Van Dale, a well-known Dutch Dictionary, often
used by people who wants to know the real signification of terms,
before using them in their own documents.
Searching for "century"
in
the first part of this Dictionary, we can read the one and only date of
the change of centuries.
The on-line Websters-Dictionary
gives us information too about this century-change, which seems to be the
same : a century includes a periode of 100 years starting at 1 and ending
at 100 (including 100).
So the old Dutch Oosthoek
Encyclopedia is giving the same information and is referring to discussions
in the year 1899, about the startingpoint of the 20th century (1900 or
1901). So in this Encyclopedia the 20th century is ending at the 31th of
december 2000 too.
Even prof. Richard Landes,
historian and director of of the Center
for Millennial Studies in Boston is making one prophecy clearly : Scarcely
in the mid of next year (2000) everyone will be conscious of the fact that
the change of ages will really happen after one year from now, so the millennium-celebration
will take(had token) place one year to early.
The Dutch meteorological organisation
KNMI was
writing an article for papers at 22 of januar 1999
to give the real date of changing
the ages.
Nevertheless : Everyone is thinking in a fit of mental derangement, caused by that computer- Millenniumbug, the starting-point of this new century will be the first of januar 2000 and is causing in that way the very big misunderstanding, I 'll describe as :
" The Millennium Brainbug Syndrome " (shorted : MBBS)
History is repeating itself
(seeing Oosthoek) but in a very strong manner, cause the number of MBBS-people
in this moment is very big in relation to the number of a comparable group
in 1899.
I think (and not only me)
that reading books (and especially dictionairies) seems to be a bad custom
at this time of multi-media.
Saying a simple conclusion :
The 20-th century is just ending at the 31 of december 2000 and the 21-th century is just starting at the first of januar 2001 ......
The meaning of this all : Reviews of this 20-th century, published in 1999, will be incomplete, while the events of the year 2000 are missing.
This means further, that political/historical events, happening in the year 2000, will be discussed afterwards, (if this group of MBBS-people is still consisting then) ; Are they located in the 20-th or in the 21-th century ?)
This means too, that if everyone is changing his mind by thinking that the falling of the Berlin Wall was not in 1989 but in 1990, historical lessons will NOT be changed , because the dates of real events are never appointed by a majority of votes and so they are never debateable.
Shortly now :
Everyone who is pretending
the date of century-change
will happen or has happened at the moment of year-change (31 december 1999
to 1 januar 2000) is falsificating history in a serious way.
Did you forget to make things
correct before the end of this century , so you have one year left
to do so.
Organising of a Milleniumparty
this year was too expensive , so you can delay this all with one year.
Doing so is producing two benefits :
1) Organising the right things
on the right moment
2) This all will be very much
cheaper then
Goodbye and my best wishes
for a MBBS-free 2000 !!
The only way to fight against
this bug is to forward this message to all your family, friends, other relations
and all kind of decision-makers.
