Thursday, 22nd of May 1997:    Millau - Port Barcarès

At the last day of the excursion, we drove further to the village of Port Barcarès on the Mediterranean coast. Here we spent a week in the "Roussillon"-region, where we participated in a fieldwork.

The Roussillon is a coastal plain at the foot of the Pyrénées mountain range. Where-ever you are in the Roussillon, you always see the mountain below: the 2784 meters high "Pic du Canigou". It is the most eastern situated mountain of the Pyrénées.
