The fieldwork

We arrived in the Jura a few days before the fieldwork began. Here we stayed in a chalet on a camping-site near the lakes of the village called "Clervaux-les-Lacs". One day before the fieldwork began, we moved to a holiday cottage in the small village of "Ney", adjacent to our field area.

For geologists, the lakes of the "Region of the Lakes" are very interesting, because mean annual temperatures during the ice-ages can be derived from the lake sediments.
