Monday, 19th of May 1997:    Auxerre - Vichy - Clermont Ferrand

The weather isn't always that good, unfortunately. So I guess you now wonder what we are doing out there in the rain. Well, this site (near the village of Randan) used to be a river terrace and we are collecting stones that were deposited here by the river that created this terrace.

By examining the rock-type of the stones, geologists are able to reconstruct the origin of the stones, and additionally the direction of the riverflow.
