Excursions during the fieldworkDuring the fieldwork there was time for some excursions in the region surrounding our field areas. The most exciting excursion was, of course, an expedition through a cave. Two experienced French speleologists guided us along narrow faults and sub-soil rivers. It resulted in an afternoon of crawling and climbing inside the limestone. Most thrilling was the moment when we all switched of our lights and we were sitting in total darkness, some 200 meters below the surface of the plateau.
