Ireland is populated for quite a long time. Some traces of early inhabitants date back to the Neolithicum, also known as the New Stone Age. One of the traces is this ancient burial site, the "Browne's Hill Dolmen", located east of the town of Carlow. We arrived here at the end of the afternoon. This is a unique prehistoric monument because its cover stone is the largest one of Europe. It weighs 100 metric tons and once laid horizontally on top of the "walls" of this dolmen. Due to the huge weight of the stone, the standing stones on the left have collapsed. Therefore, the cover stone partially had fallen to the ground. We drove further to the town of Kilkenny, where we spent two nights.
