A small detail of the Gap of Dunloe: the western half of the U-shaped valley is clearly visible. Starting at the valley floor (on the right in the picture) and going upwards, the rock face becomes steeper and steeper until its nearly vertical (in the picture somewhat left from the center). Further left, the slope is low-angled. This is a remnant of the ancient V-shaped valley, that isn't carved out by glaciers.
