Thursday 9th and Friday 10th of August 2001:    Dublin - Glendalough - Kilkenny

On Thursday we started our tour through Ireland at the Powerscourt House, some 25 kilometers outside the center of Dublin. The picture below is taken from the steps of the castle and shows the beautiful Powerscourt Gardens. In the background you see the "Wicklow Mountains". The part of the garden that is visible in the photograph, were laid out between 1840 and 1850 in an Italian style.
