Holiday Ireland

08-07-2001 to 08-18-2001

This wasn't an excursion or fieldwork, but a holiday with my former girlfriend and her family. However, for a geologist, there's enough to see in Ireland: high cliffs, nice waterfalls, wide valleys etc. etc. Therefore, this trip certainly deserves to be mentioned at my homepage.

Ireland is also well known because of its culture. The country is rich of magnificent castles, prehistoric sites, ancient fortresses and ruins of monasteries where the Celtic influence is still visible.

But, of course, nothing matches an evening in a pub, where one enjoys a pint of Guinness or Smithwick's, while listening to the traditional Irish music....
