Sunday, 29th of August 1999: Kirkjubæjarklaustur - Hrollaugsstadir"Kirkjugólf". We started our Sunday standing on a church floor. A church floor created by nature actually. It was formed when tops of basalt columns, like we've seen at "Aldeyarfoss", were eroded by rivers or glaciers, before being polished by wind erosion. These processes left the basalt columns as a plain looking like a church floor.
