"Reykjavík", as seen from "Perlan", The Pearl. "Perlan" is a restaurant on top of 6 huge water tanks. These water tanks, on the hill "Öskjuhlíd", contain 24 million liters of water with a temperature of 85 degrees Celsius. The water is transported from the geothermal field "Nesjavellir", near "Thingvellir", and is cooled in the tanks before it is ready to be used by consumers in the city.

This was the last stop of our terrific excursion, and also the last slide of this show. The next morning we had to get up early because our flight back to Amsterdam departed at 07.45 h local time. We arrived early afternoon, very satisfied after the excursion.

Thank you  Ko, Jaap and Orson!
