Saturday, 28th of August 1999:    Myvatn - Sprengisandur - Kirkjubćjarklaustur

Pseudocraters at "Skútustadir", on the southern shore of the lake "Myvatn". Pseudocraters are formed when, during a volcanic eruption, bogs are extremely heated. The water in the bogs turns into steam and expands, causing an explosion that pushes volcanic ash overlying the bogs aside to leave it as pseudocraters.

"Myvatn" means "Mosquito Lake". Really, at Myvatn there are more mosquitos annoying you than you ever can imagine.
