Excursion Iceland

It literally was a dream coming true! A "Quaternary Geology" excursion was planned in the country I wanted to visit for years: Iceland. With Dr. Jaap Griede, Dr. Orson van de Plassche, Dr. Ko van Huissteden and two Icelandic geologists as our guides, 23 students made an 8-day trip through Iceland. The long journey (see map below) took us in a very short time along volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls, fjords, hot springs, lakes and polar deserts.
