This image shows the southern face of the Sierra del Buey. The rock-strata are folded in such a way that these strata rise nearly vertical. The image also gives an impression of the landscape in this part of the Spanish peninsula: it is a dry and barren environment. The reddish color of the rock is typical for areas in a tropic or subtropic climate.
