1906. Pendant un très long voyage au Soudan Edmond Fortier a visiter Tombouctou.
Il
fut probablement un des premiers photographes professionnel à Tombouctou après
l'occupation par le commandant Joffre en février 1894. Le résultat de ce visite était plus
de 50 cartes postales publiés.
Maintenant c'est possible, grâce à la méthode digitale ,
de
montrer une sélection de ces photos sans texte carte postale imprimé.

January 1906. Edmond Fortier visited Tombuctoo during his long stay in Mali. He was one
of the first photographers who visited this famous town after it was taken by the French in
february 1894. The result of his visit over 50 pictures are published by
Edmond Fortier as
postcard only. Digital techniques makes it possible to
show in this exhibit a selection of the pictures as real photographs, without overprinting

Januari 1906 bracht Edmond Fortier een bezoek aan de stad Timboektoe als onderdeel van
zijn lange reis
door Mali, voormalig Frans
Soudan. Hij was waarschijnlijk een van de eerste beroepsfotografen
die Timboektoe
bezocht, nadat de Fransen in februari 1894 de stad innamen. Ruim 50 opnamen
van dit bezoek werden
door Edmond Fortier als prentbriefkaart uitgegeven. Digitale techniek maakt het
mogelijk een selectie van deze opnamen in de z.g. eerste drukgang, dus zonder
de later opgedrukte tekst op deze expositie
te laten zien.
Alle getoonde afbeeldingen zijn actief en brengen U naar keuze bij de vergroting met toelichting.
