Application Procedure.

Please read the following carefully:

You must read and agree to the criteria before submitting your web site for the LTS Grail Award. You can do so at the bottom of the last criteria page by hitting the "I agree" button. You will then be taken to a self test. Remember, hidden in the criteria is a secret word, which you must enter in the designated area on the application form! If it isn't there, there will be no evaluation and your application will be unsuccesful from the start. The application will be deleted and there will not be a second email with the verification of the receival of your application..

From the selftest you can go to my application form. After submitting the application form, you will be directed to a thanks page, from which you can continue surfing through my site. On top of that, you are there invited to take my nominee badge, to show you have applied for my award. The applicant will receive an automated reply and within two days a confirmation by e-mail from me telling you that the submittal has been received and I will then give you a code, which identifies your site only to you and me to protect your privacy. The evaluation process can be followed on my status page with the help of this code. Evaluations for this award will be finalized within 4 weeks. Winners will be notified by e-mail with the won award attached. The award will be inscribed with the title of your site. The winning site will be added to my "Winners List" within one week after the site has been awarded and the award has been placed on their site. I will show a screenshot of your site together with a short description of its content. By applying for my award, you agree to allow me to use the screenshot and URL of the site to use as a link to you. If my status page shows that the evaluation of your site has been concluded and you did not receive an award within two days, your application was unsuccesful. In such a case where that is applicable, please remove the Nomination badge from your site. I will, upon request, let you have the full information why I took the decision not to award you. I will try to help you, if you require, to improve your site. You may always re-apply for my award after 60 days from the date you first applied. In that case, reread my criteria very carefully to make sure you understand what I am looking for and make adjustments to your site before reapplying where needed. Visiting some of the sites of the winners of my award may also help you. My decision to award your site or not is final and cannot be discussed.

COPPA RULING and EU DIRECTIVE 95/46

Please note, that I do not accept applications from children below the age of 18. I follow the rules issued by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) where the rules laid down by COPPA to protect the privacy of children prevent me to accept award submissions from applicants under the age of 13 without the written permission of the elders and the EU Directive 95/46, where individuals under 18 are marked as children. To conform to rating institutions and the afore-mentioned institutions, I enforce the age of 18 instead. I know the COPPA rules are meant for USA sites only. However, as Internet is a global system, and my site is seen by many American citizens, as well as other nationals, I believe the COPPA rules should be globally adhered to. Therefore, I enforce them as well. For more information, please visit the Federal Trade Commission. This site will also adhere to the European (EU) directive 95/46. on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data
