Personal Biographies: Sjors - Rum Kraus - Yoshi-D General Biography: Scex is a Nintendo-Goregrind project from the Netherlands, which is formed by Sjors. Far far away, in the southern part of this small country next to Germany, in the Dutch province Limburg, some sick fucks who have an obsession for Nintendo formed this extraordinarily sick Goregrind-project, called Scex! March 2004: The planned no-named goregrind-project of Sjors had evolved. After a tough time at school Sjors created Scex. Scex was an idea of combining Nintendo sounds with the most bloodpumping goregrind. It all started as a computer project with a former member Jelle. They shared some sick ideas and got started. Sjors created his first Scex song called Mario Disfigurement, the most famous Mario Overworld song with a cheap-ass drumcomputer and his old microphone he found at the attic. There were many problems creating music because of Sjors' lack of knowledge how the sound-programs had to be operated. After he created this song there weren't many people who heard it. To be honest, the song sucked balls but it stayed the very first Scex song. Scex almost drowned into the forgotten ages of Sjors’ fantasies and one day later his pc crashed and he lost his very first song. This was so fucked up that Sjors didn't work on Scex for a long time.. Meanwhile, Jelle lost his interests in creating music and pumping up some ideas, so Scex became Sjors' solo project. After a month Sjors started to work on a un-named demo. He created a 5 tracked disc and maked Rum Kraus hear his creation. Rum Kraus was surprised about the result and supported Scex a lot in those times so Sjors continued with working on the demo. After a while he finished his last song and asked a friend for doing some artwork. The demo was called "Mario's Bad Trip". Five tracks on one single disc and Scex had finished its very first release. In those days Synskis was creating a website for Scex, so finally Scex was a real fact. But then.. after some promotion for this disc the band D.o.D asked Sjors for recording a split-CD with them. Sjors agreed but Scex went into a low priority. A few months later Sjors was listening to some music on a party and heard some of his creations. Sjors was amazed there were more people that knew Scex despite from himself and a few friends A week later Grindcore Radio contacted Sjors to do an interview and they promoted Scex on the radio. Then Sjors decided to go on with his works and created his promised split-CD with D.o.D. Meanwhile, Yoshi-D, known from Dustsucker, joined the split-crew and so we had a planned 3-way split. Scex started creating songs and asked Yoshi-D for playing guitar with Scex for its this album. Sjors started recording with Yoshi-D and formed the 3-way split. A few days later the artwork was done and printed, so Scex released the split-CD during a release party in Musicon Den-Haag (NL). After this Yoshi-D officially joined Scex. A month later Scex signed with Cut Records for doing a re-recording of the old demo "Mario's Bad Trip". Scex was still not complete. There was something missing.. Sjors asked Rum Kraus for doing the DJ/Sampling work for Scex and he became an official member of the "what once was a solo-project"-band called Scex. Together with Yoshi-D and Rum Kraus, Scex will be a new generation of goregrind band with sounds that have never been heard before.. To be continued.. Written by Sjors |
