| The Reeds was founded in 2007 and is no less than a 'dream team': five of the finest Dutch saxophone players in one section, playing with one of the most swinging rhythm sections in Holland. They are all members of The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and/or The Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, and they are not only great section players but also top soloists. They played with great saxophone players like George Coleman, Lew Tabackin, Teddy Edwards, Jimmy Halperin, Scott Hamilton and Lee Konitz to name a few. / more information >>> |

Together with the Reeds Rik van den Bergh did a recording for Maxanter Records in June 2007. The titel RESERGE refers to baritone saxophonist Serge Chaloff who passed away exactly 50 years ago at that time. Time for a tribute to this excellent and underrated baritone player!
