You will find information about Jan (J.A.A.M.) Oomen (1917-1995), his ancestors and his children. The site is built on the basis of materials collected by Jan Oomen and inherited by his son Marcel Oomen (1953-).

During his life, Jan collected a lot of historical materials about the Oomen family in Oosterhout, located in the South of the Netherlands, where Jan was born. This site tells the story of the Oomen Family based on his collection of photos, genealogical charts, diaries and other sources.

Johannes Antonius Oomen, circa 1920

In the late 19th and early 20th century, the Oomen Family belonged to the local elite of Oosterhout, a small rural town on the road from Amsterdam to Antwerp, near Breda. The family's fortune was made by Johannes Antonius Oomen, a traveling merchant who died as a wealthy factory owner on January 6, 1930.
