Comments on the Horten H III and H IIIb

Span view of the Horten H IIIb scale model in munition carrier configuration

Both the white Horten H III and the camouflaged Horten H IIIb (in munition carrier configuration) models have a built up construction.
They were covered with .0010 clear Mylar and spray painted. Mylar is like a super thin Monokite.
The Horten H IIIb is painted in a RLM 70/71/65 scheme and represents a modified H IIIb to be used as a munition carrier in operation "Seelöwe" (Invasion of Great Britain) by Germany in 1940.
The models fly great on the slope but are no real aerobatic performers.
