On this page a presentation is given of a selection of the photos I took during my visit in May 1993 to the Silver Hill facilities of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC, USA. These pictures show the remains of the only surviving Horten H IX. This Horten H IX V3 is a prototype for the proposed all wing fighter-bomber Horten Ho 229 and was built by the Gotha factory. This prototype was built in 1945 and was largely complete when captured by the American forces in 1945. As can be seen from these pictures the Ho IX V3 is in urgent need of restauration.
