Background information by models.

I started to paint models since 1992, after I painted for a long time square paintings of 1 by 1 metre with realistic and surrealistic images of still lives.
Most of the models I searched in the nightlife of Arnhem and made photo's of them at my studio.
Most of the photosessions started with portrait photography and more or less the clothes vanished during the session.
In a quiet short time a collected a lot of poses and expressions which became the start of a new paintings.
Over the years I made a lot of paintings of the male model and also sold a lot at the Gallery 1718 and Gallery Faubourg in Amsterdam.
After the closing of these gallery's Gallery Mooi Man in Groningen opened in 2007 and is the only gallery in The Netherlands with the male art as subject.
