Sandro Chia decorated six espresso cups with the faces of the people of different Italian cities. To complete the set he decorated a 7th espresso cup named Pompei. This was the first single limited edition espresso cup, but illy did not give much information about it.
People outside of illy did not know how to obtain this
cup and many rumours were spread. Some said that in particular gift boxes the
7th cup was added or replaced by another. This rumour was not true, the cup was not
for sale, but reserved for a special occasion and given away in a giftbox as a free sample. | artist |  Sandro Chia.
