Just like the 2001 Artist's Proof Aliens cups, these cups were created just for David Byrne himself. Inside the inscription says "illy collection 1998 for David Byrne".
I do not know how many of these cups were made. As you can see, they were not numbered.
Or, maybe that it's just a prototype. And, please a look beside. There have been more "experiments"
with the Silver Cup". When you have more information about them,
