To celebrate Charta's ten-year anniversary and "Book Expo America 2002", on May 4th 2002, Marina Abramovic presented "Spirit Cooking" together with the Spirit Cup at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York (SoHo).
500 cups came together with a book in a beautiful (and heavy!) wooden case. 250 cups were
released without book and case.The 23,5 carate gold paint, docorated cup could be bought on the illy internet site for €260. Yes, that's a lot of money, but the cups were sold out in a couple of minutes!!
