The Tagalog Translator is
an easy-to-use
dictionary to translate single words from Tagalog
to English and from English to Tagalog. In
addition to this, the program is equipped with a list of common
expressions.

The main part of the Tagalog
Translator is the dictionary. Actually, this is the word list which enables
you to search for English or Tagalog
translations. The database currently contains about 5,400 unique records.
In order to find a translation, fill in the edit box on
top of the screen (see Figure 1). After that, click on the “Find” button and
wait.

After a few seconds (this is depending on the search
string which you have entered) the results will be displayed in the grid
below (see Figure 2). This grid contains all records that match your search
criteria.

The information which is selected in the grid will be
displayed in separate fields too. Furthermore, if there is additional
information available (such as English grammar, L2 Definition, Examples or
Notes) then it will be displayed on the lower half of the screen (see Figure
3).

To browse through the results, you may also use the
arrow buttons on top of the screen (see Figure 4). These buttons have the
following functionality (from left to right): go to first record, go to
prior record, go to next record, go to last
record.

Please refer to my
website for updates of the dictionary database as well as new releases
of the application itself.
In addition to the
dictionary, the Tagalog Translator is
equipped with a list of common expressions.
On top of the screen all available topics are displayed
(see Figure 1).

Just click on one of these topics to see the
expressions in the grid below (see Figure 2).

Use the arrow buttons to browse through the available
records (see Figure 3). These buttons will bring you to (from left to right)
the first record, the prior record, the next record, the last record.

Please notice
The expressions are stored in a separate database table
and will not be available in the
dictionary section of the Tagalog
Translator.
This page is developed to collect a huge number of
interesting websites about The Philippines and the culture of this country.
On top of the screen, all available websites will be
listed (see Figure 1).

In order to browse through the list, use the arrow
buttons on top of the screen (see Figure 2). These buttons will bring you to
(from left to right) the first record, the prior record, the next record,
the last record.

Click on one of these names to see the exact URL (see
Figure 3).

In the memo field, below, some additional information
will be showed about the contents of the specific website (see Figure 4).

To visit the selected website, just click on the “Go
to” button on top of the screen.
Please notice
If you have a suggestion for this list, then please
send the URL by E-mail. If the website is useful for people who want to
learn the Tagalog language, it will be embedded
in the next release of the Tagalog Translator.
The section ‘About this program’ is used as a splash
screen for the application. It will popup when the application starts.
Please read the information on the window ‘About this
program’ carefully and please pay attention to the information for your
donation.
