Alright I admit it immediately, it is not really a collection. I only have one set of shut down pictures. There are two major problems concerning shut down pictures. One, since you can only use pictures with 256 colors in it, the quality of any color picture would degrade a lot. Black and white pictures however suffer far less from this, making them suitable for this job.
The second problem, which I have not been able to solve, is the fact that pictures get "stretched" a bit. In my opinion this is not a terrible thing, because these pictures are only seen for a short few moments before you shut down the computer. However, if you are one of those perfectionists who want this to look absolutely perfect feel free to change the pictures according to your whishes. If you happen to have your own shut down pictures, you can always send them to me.
Perhaps this can become a real collection after all. Simply download these two files into your computer. Create a backup of your original logos.sys en logow.sys files. Then copy these files to your Windows directory and you should immediately see the result when shutting down. You can also view them using Mspaint or any other graphic application. If anyone knows how to change the "Windows 98-screen" which is always seen when starting up, I would really appreciate if that person would share that information with me.
